It was originally organized in a one room school house on what is now North Broad Street with 10 charter members. In 1906, the 20-member congregation built a wooden church on South Johnson Street. A fire, said to have started from a heater to dry out the piano, claimed the wooden building in 1919.
In 1922 the church was rebuilt as a brick structure at its current location of 100 West Main Street. Educational space was added in 1954 and again in 1989.
Due to foundation and structural problems, the last service in the brick building was Homecoming which was held in July 2005. Groundbreaking for the new building was held on December 11, 2005. The new church building was completed May of 2007.
