Dr. SCOTT Wilkins
Senior Pastor
Dr. Wilkins is originally from Kentucky. He has over 43 years of pastoral experience, serving churches in Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, and Alabama. He has pastored churches of all sizes, including church memberships of over 3000, and new church plants beginning with six people or fewer. He is a graduate of Campbellsville University (1983) with a B.S. Degree in Psychology and Christian Studies. He is also a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Masters' Degree in Theology/Pastoral Care (1989), and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Church Growth/Evangelism (2000).
Scott is married to Patricia Ann (Brooks) and they have three grown children, and five grandchildren. In his spare time, he leads a para-church ministry called, R.E.A.C.H. Evangelistic Strategies, a ministry designed to led the church to engage in team evangelism through relationship-building principles and acts of hospitality. Scott travels across America and internationally teaching this evangelism strategy to pastors, churches, associations, and conventions.
David "DJ" Sims, Jr.
Associate PAstor to Students
DJ was born and raised in Ozark, AL where he graduated from Carroll High School in 2009. Upon graduating high school, DJ felt the calling of pastoral ministry through his upbringing at the 0800 Protestant Service at the Main Post Chapel on Fort Rucker. DJ attended the Baptist College of Florida where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Leadership/Christian Education in 2014. During college, he was introduced to First Baptist Church of Samson, where he would become a member and serve in different areas, mainly with the youth. After Bible College, DJ served at Center Ridge Baptist Church in Ariton, AL leading music and teaching teens. In 2017, he was the pastoral trainee at First Baptist Church of Enterprise, AL where he would be ordained for Gospel ministry in December 2017. In May 2018, he would join our church family again as the interim Student Minister. DJ has been our full-time Associate Pastor to Students since 2019 and has been humbled to serve and grow in this church body. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Discipleship from The New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in New Orleans, LA.
On May 15, 2021, DJ married Daphne Halsey of Enterprise, AL. On August 15th, 2024, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Amada into the world. The couple has enjoyed growing in the Lord through service and worship here at FBC and look forward to everything that the Lord has in store for them in the future.
DJ is an avid fan of football (War Eagle!), basketball, and soccer. He enjoys music, drawing, writing, reading and cooking for his lovely wife!
Kaylee Jones
Children's Ministry director
Kaylee is originally from Bellwood, AL. She graduated from Geneva High School in 2020. She attended Enterprise State Community College to pursue a degree in elementary education. While enrolled in college she felt a call to ministry. Through many prayers, God led her to a ministry based out of Buchanan, MI. She spent two years traveling the United States as a children's minister with Life Action Ministries. Throughout those two years Kaylee had the opportunity to travel to 28 states teaching over 1,500 kids about Jesus! She also had the opportunity to serve families from all over the US at camp in Michigan. At the end of that season, she felt called home.
Once home, Kaylee served as Family Ministry Assistant at FBC Dothan. After praying and seeking God's plan she felt led to FBC Samson, where she accepted the position as Director of Children's Ministries.
Kaylee enjoys reading Karen Kingsbury, playing guitar, and crafting. When she is not doing one of those things she is spending time with family and friends.
Kimberly Harrison
Office Administrator
Kimberly is from Florala, AL. She is a graduate of Florala High School (1997) and a graduate of Lurleen B Wallace Community College (2000). She graduated from LBW with an Associates Degree in Office Administration and has since put that degree to good use gaining experience in different office settings while pausing for a few years to become a stay-at-home mom to her two children.
Kimberly has served as the Office Administrator here at First Baptist Church of Samson since 2020. She enjoys serving the church immensely and is blessed to call FBC her second church family.
Kimberly married her childhood sweetheart, Heath in 2000. They have two children, Emmett and Emma. They attend Smyrna Baptist Church in Florala, AL where they have both served since they were teenagers. She enjoys crocheting in her spare time.
